C4K

Volunteered @ the 22nd Coats for Kids in downtown on Saturday. What a great experience
and what amazing families! There were hundreds of families waiting in line for many hours.
It was a cold morning and one family I helped had been in line since 4am!
I had the chance to assist 6 families and find them almost 30 coats total!

I don't have any pictures loaded yet. But Margaret's cheer team competed again last weeked. They won first place for their division and won High Point for their Level! We are so proud of her and all the hard work she has put in. The team is on the road to nationals and I can't wait to see what happens next!!

Nicholas had his Tae Kwon Do testing last weekend as well. (The usual busy weekend for us) He did great and his Tae Kwon Do master tells us he will be receiving his green belt during the ceremony on Friday! This starts a whole new adventure for Nick, because he will begin sparing and competing now!

So much excitement!!

Computer problems

So the hard drive on our desktop bottomed out about a month ago. My mom was in town hiding from the hurricane and crashed it really... *J/K mom* So we had someone come get it and they replaced the hard drive, blah blah blah. All I cared about were the pictures that were on it!
Thank goodness he got them all back!
Wonderful you say? NO... not so much. Because about two weeks later.. *crash*
So, the guy comes back out and picks up the computer again. Well, who would have thunk it!
'The hard drive crashed? I thought you just replaced that??'
Then he tries to tell Alex we owe him $$ for the labor!!!! Really? no way, really?
Well, of course Alex told him that was ridiculous (not really what he said BTW)
and we got the computer back yesterday.
!NO pictures! !NO iTunes!
After a few hours Alex recovered some older pictures, but our wonderful summer with Ali?
Nothing...
*sigh* My fault for not backing EVERYTHING up, I know.. I know.

Last Weekend Formal

Alright so I touched on this fancy night
we had last weekend. Not much to say
past that except that we all looked
wonderful! Margaret and her friends were so well behaved and recieved so many compliments. Nick played bodyguard and was stopped many
times by people who wanted to tell him
how cute he was.

Uh? Duh..

*LOL* It was fun to get out and dress up and act like we belonged at this shin-dig. These people were not "working class folk" During a live auction a painting was sold at $275,000.00.

But it was exciting
with the six foot
center pieces
and the tuxes and
the fact that
everyone was
there for a great cause.

A girl could get used to that...

Nicholas earned his Yellow belt!

Nick at his Tai Kwon Do testing.. He is bottom/right.
At the belt ceremony.. Yeah Nick!

Green belt is next and the testing is in November... so this is to be continued...

Don't worry.. be happy..

O' Happy Day! o' happy day... O'Happy Day! o' happy day..
Sing with me! YEAH! I just had to put down what a great day I am having so far. Lucky me was blessed with FREE coffee this morning, then a FREE bagel happened to call my name from the breakroom? HELLO? can you say wonderful!?!
I know I have promised pictures and a summary of last weekend. Hopefully I will get to that tonight or tomorrow night. REALLY! I WILL! I promise...
For those of you who have no idea what I am talking about let me share. We went to a black-tie gala on Saturday for a wonderful organization called A World for Children. They are a faith based foster care/adoption agency here in Texas. It was beautiful with great food, great wine, great music all for a great cause. Margaret's birthday was on Sept.23 so we let her bring three friends and they all had so much fun planning what to wear and coming over to our house to get ready! It was like they were going to prom.. So cute! So, I'll post a few pictures of the girls and Alex and Nick.
Maybe one of me in my {spent four hours in the mall draggin' two children behind me} dress.
Oh, and BTW Alex and I are really enjoying this! *sarcasm*
Oh, the wonderful life of a banker! Panic panic panic!!! whatever...

Well Hurricane Ike sure left his mark... While most of you experienced it first hand, I sat back and watched in on the Weather Channel, MSN, CBS, CNN, MTV and I think even the Home Shopping Network even had coverage! Seems like everyone close to my heart survived with no major damage. My friend Suzy seems to have gotten the worst damage.

Ummm... She is in OHIO!

My mom sent a few as well... The Kemah Board Walk looks like a war zone as does much of the coastal areas. I am amazed that it made it so far and did so much damage!

Glad you are all alright!

Alright this is the first Official Blog on the Dominguez Family page!!
Alright, so where to begin???
Well, the kids start school in seven days ~ say it with me 7 DAYS. Excited would not be the word I would use but I think they want to see their friends. So we have all $200 worth of supplies and all new wardrobes for this magical day. Hope we are ready!?!
Nick is doing great in Tae Kwon Do and earns a new stripe just about every time he goes.
Margaret is still cheering and competitions start in October. They just finished camp and learning the entire routine, now on to the fixin'. We celebrated Alex's birthday this weekend with great friends and alot of food and even more beer! But everyone had a great time and now we are on to the next big thing... his next birthday! ha ha ha (I'll add a few pics. later)
